Do you ever beat yourself up before even attempting to do something new? And what does that do to your self-esteem? The ‘what if’ mindset has been passed on to us with love, but putting worse case scenario first takes away our focus from what we want to achieve. If you hear yourself wondering what if, be grateful and push forward. This means you’re walking unexplored land that guarantees growth and with enough effort, success.

Following Through with Challenging Decisions
Making the right call is only one part of the challenge, following through with it, without hesitation, can take a lot of willpower. So how do you not go back on your word, even if you’ve only given your word to yourself? By making a point out of keeping your word. This will contribute to your self-esteem and once you’ve followed through you’ll be able to enjoy the process without having the little you trying to take control. You are brave and most importantly, you are powerful.
Change Is Inevitable – Plan for It
Only through setting an aim can we achieve it. Otherwise, regardless if we are doing many tasks, if they don’t amount to something that we are proud of, we will spend our entire life chasing things outside us to make us happy. If you know that tomorrow you will be in a different place from where you were today, both in time and space, in the universe, would you choose where you want to be?
Embracing Who You Are
You want to get ahead. We all do. You are doing more than most people though, you are taking action. That’s great! Envisioning where you want to be plays a huge part of getting there. But take a good look at yourself and accept and embrace who you are in this very moment. Accepting and loving who you are in the now will allow you to build yourself up.
Confidence and Effort
Our brain loves holiday mood and it loves a good challenge. In our attempts to protect us from life, our parents might be removing any sources of stress from our life at a young age. And there, in the warmth of our family home, we feel safe, we feel confident and we feel loved. These feelings are not eternal, just as we can’t recreate those ‘perfect’ environment ever again. Adulthood comes with a wake-up call: it’s hard to be confident. But this statement doesn’t help us, doesn’t reveal how we can overcome the challenge. Confidence is brought by doing something uncomfortable every single day. And once you go back into holiday mode, just as those love handles reappear, self-confidence vanishes. Look at the level of confidence today to understand how much effort you’ve put in today in overcoming your boundaries.
Listen to Your Body
There are days when your mind listens to you but not your body. When you feel able, but have limitations. That’s okay. Listening to your body means acknowledging what is happening within you as oppose to what you want the reality to be. Give yourself time to recover and focus on creating the reality once you are ready. Make sure you don’t extend your body’s limitations unnecessarily. Being fair to yourself also means taking a break when you need to and pressing on when you can.
