Day 2: Start Over?

What happens if you fail as I did today? I think there are two main options, we either start over or we push forward. I can speak from experience and say that starting over never did anything for me. Starting over implies that the experience of failure is dismissed, that succeeding at something the next day has nothing to do with the challenge that we faced. That’s not really accurate. What I will do different tomorrow might have never happened if it wasn’t for today.

First, I’ll give myself a tap on the back just for pushing forward. It wasn’t 4 AM sharp for me today, but I now know that I can’t just count on my enthusiasm to get me out of bed and stay active. The second step is planning on eliminating the risks of napping and drooling on the sofa. What’s my plan to get back on track? I’ll schedule in a work-out for 4.10. This means that I can spend 20 minutes on waking up my body and getting my mind used to how we are going to do things moving forward. It’s time to get back control over my life.
