What You Focus On Is What You Attract

This is quite an old principle that we don’t always acknowledge that it applies to every area of life. If we focus on being late and the consequences it attracts, or missing out on a deadline – it will most likely happen because our brain perceives that as the priority. A great exercise is shifting your perception from what you fear to what you want. Not only will it give you peace of mind in the present moment, but it will turn the future you want into a greater probability.

The Law of Attraction Is Based on Giving

We attract what we believe and we also attract what we give.

There is order in any law and the law of attraction is no different. If we picture a bright future for ourselves and treat people poorly in the process, we might get where we want but the experience will not be a positive one. We won’t be making any friends with the I’m the most person on earth attitude and we all heard again and again that the ruler over infinite fortunes can be miserable.

When our own beliefs are at stake, do we reject new ideas, do we listen, process with an open mind and then make a choice? Or do we hide under the crust of superiority, pretending and hiding our imperfections? Do we give our best in the present moment for ourselves and others?

The Mind Shifting Practice of Gratitude

Gratitude is a trick that goes a long way. It takes moving the emphasis from lack to abundance. The scarcity mindset is inherited from generations before, thus being part of our deep level of programming which makes us alert when we’re low on rice, money, attention – anything that we account for. So much so that we completely ignore the rest of 90% which we have in abundance.

We can break down our lives on different areas – health, wealth, relationships, self-growth and relationship with self, wellbeing etc. We have areas that are doing better than others. What gratitude does is shifting our view in all areas of life, including the ones where we feel that we are underperforming.

Thoughts like – ‘I hope I’ll get better’ change to ‘I’m grateful for health’. One health issue doesn’t mean that our entire health is lacking and by being grateful for abundance in health, we set our subconscious to put resources in place and facilitate healing.

I recently started keeping a journal where I write five things that I’m grateful for every day. It can be something small that happened or general aspects of life. This moves our focus to the generous aspects of life and makes the law of attraction work in our benefit.
