Believe in Yourself: More than Just a Myth

Have you ever fantasized over someone who comes and recognizes your value and lifts above the crowd? That’s pretty much the typical hero – victim deadly duo. Being a hero means seeing people as needy, while being a victim implies waiting on someone else to take action for you. Self-belief has nothing to do with other people. It’s not about waiting around to save or be saved. It’s about being your best self, which is what any negative self-talk makes it impossible to achieve.

Make a Start

We’ve all heard the saying you got to start somewhere, to which I would add starting is better than overthinking where you start. Time spent not taking action is time wasted which might not mean much in the grand scheme of things, but you’ll probably look back at the hesitation laughing at yourself. Nothing is permanent. You can only improve once you have something to work with.

Trust the Big You over Little You

Thanks to Pascal Mauerhofer

You have that little voice in your head that tells you rubbish. I have it also. How do you out-think it? You just focus on what you want to achieve to a point where what you are doing matters more than how you are doing. What you are doing will produce results, energy, relationships. It is the action and not the fear of it. So next time you hear that little voice inside of your head just ignore it. It’s not even worth your time. Don’t let your insecurities come in your way to success.

Emotions that Serve You

Our thoughts create certain emotional states. You might think – it’s what happens that makes me feel happy or sad – but what happens is being taken on board by us and we usually have a reaction to it. This doesn’t mean that the reaction cannot be negative, but taking control and allowing ourselves to feel feelings that serve us well is important. Do you get any long-term benefits from lashing out, feeling anxious or sad? Do you get any benefits at all? Although we do have a wide range of emotions to play with, we don’t really have to explore the whole palette. Keep you emotions in check, choose what you feel.
